I’m Just Here for the Food: Red Robin Gourmet Burgers

BIG TIP: If you sign up on RedRobin.com, they’ll send you a coupon for $3 off AND they’ll send you a coupon for a free burger on your birthday.

Those who follow my reviews know that I recently had a birthday (thank you, thank you), so I got one of said coupons recently.

I hadn’t been to Red Robin in a long time, but the allure of a free burger proved too tempting for me. I stopped in after work and, determined to spend as little as possible, I decided to drink water, gets me a luscious burger, and nix the fries to save money.

I ordered the Bleu Ribbon Burger — a nice, fat burger with bleu cheese crumbles and crispy onion rings. And imagine my shock when they came with Bottomless Fries!!

The burger was great — I love bleu cheese and it sure goes great on a burger. And the fries were super-yum, too — I love Red Robin’s seasoned salt (they keep it at the table so that you can season your fries to taste).

I don’t usually like steak fries — I’m more into skinny fries, see. But these were hot out of the fryer and crispy on the outside — sprinkle on some of that aforementioned salt and a splash of Tabasco, and you’re good to go!

Being the cheapskate that I am, I nibbled at my burger and loaded up on bottomless fries (I had the leftovers for lunch today, and they were still pretty good) — I left completely stuffed.

The wait staff were pretty friendly — they seemed a little overwhelmed, despite the fact that the place was all but empty. But they didn’t hassle me for getting so many refills on the fries, so I can’t really complain.

And, considering the leftovers, I just got two meals for $3 (you’ve gotta leave tip. Don’t be a jerk). SCORE!!

I’d have given them four stars if not for the just-okay service and the fact that their burgers are usually about $10. Honestly, I probably won’t eat here except on my birthday. That is way expensive.

But it sure was tasty.
